Did you know? On a dark cold night, under full moonlight, some say you can spot ghosts lurking about in the city-states, or even at some common vacation spots. No, really! It’s true!
The most popular sighting, perhaps, is that of Edda’s ghost. They say she can be seen - only sometimes - at night in Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, and Ul’dah. What brings her there? Who can say?
Legend has it she holds a severed head, though most witnesses describe her simply as a morose figure clad in white healing robes, standing motionlessly before vanishing just as quickly as she appeared. She is most likely to appear at 2AM, or so the story goes.
One video shows Edda standing under a lamp post in Gridania, while another more distant shot shows the spirit in Limsa.
Years ago, a different ghost was spotted right off the coast of Bloodshore by a Lalafellin fisherwoman. “Doesn’t look headless or legless to me!” they shouted, while capturing the figure just briefly on camera. It disappeared behind the watery rocks. Has it been seen since? Who knows!
If you’re lucky, you might just see the Bloodshore ghost if you follow the rocks closely (32x, 34y) and wait silently in the dark, perhaps from 9PM to 1AM.
Are there other tales of ghostly manifestations in Eorzea? Some claim to have seen a ghostly old woman and her chocobo in the Coerthas Western Highlands - two figures wandering solemnly down a snowy path, then vanishing into thin air. Maybe they’re wandering spirits, or maybe some adventurer’s have overactive imaginations! Who’s to say?
