A singular Medium plot opened up in Mist (Sargatanas) last week, and it would appear that a neighbor has had their eyes on it - maybe a little too much.
Not only have they blocked the stairway leading up to the plot with outdoor furniture, they’ve constructed a wall of gazebos, namazu effigies, and miniature Heaven-On-High replicas (along with an Ishgardian hot tub)!
Whether this is in a bid to take over the plot for themselves or simply dissuade anyone else from bidding on it (or even force the previous owner out!), we cannot be sure! But one thing is certain, and it’s that those namazu sure can be annoying. That noise!
The plot for the plot, however, hasn’t worked so far. Leading up to the lottery date on February 25, over 72 entrants threw in their bids for the Medium estate, catfish or no catfish. Several did so in an attempt to possibly block the warring neighbors from gaining control. Many also gathered at the plot over the course of the lottery round to witness the absurd display for themselves. Some have even dubbed it a new “tourist attraction.”
Housing is serious business!
After the lottery ended on the 25th, a new owner, reportedly unrelated to the owners of the other property, moved in to the obstructed plot, despite the ongoing shenanigans. Rumor has it they won with entry #1. A note on the placard from the new owner now reads:
“The blockade is coming from the plot below. Sorry for the inconvenience :(”
That said, many are left wondering just why Mist housing officials have refused to do anything about what could be seen as malicious intent (or at least nuisance behavior) to control an area of housing. Now that the plot is once again occuppied, though, perhaps some actions may be taken.
We’ll keep you updated!
