Hello class! Don’t you just get sick of these school uniforms day in and day out? I know I’m tired of having to wear this teacher’s getup all the time. You DO wear the uniforms, right? I promise, I will not put your answers in your permanent records. Nevermind if my fingers are crossed.

Lopp at the FC chest!

Fortunately, we live in a world where what you wear is not a big deal! You can wear whatever you want! Sometimes! Depending on your job, and level sometimes, for some reason.

Still, that’s not important! What is important is the “how-to,” amirite? That’s a real word, don’t look it up, I’m the teacher around here.

So how DO we how-to this whole glam thing that everyone’s talking about all the time? First, we need to go to the desert! More specifically, Vesper Bay in Western Thanalan! You may know it as that horrible place where you have to go into the basement all the time over and over again holy heck. But after today, you’ll know it as home of notable Orange Juice Lady, Swyrgeim!

It’s Swyrgeim!

Aside from oranges, Swyrgeim has one hobby and that hobby is sitting on a bench. She also has another hobby, which is fashion. Also, she has a fourth hobby that is applying dyes to things. Some may say that dyes and fashion are in the same genre and to those I say “okay.”

Swygreim has at least three things to teach those who are willing to learn, but for today’s lesson we are sticking to glams! Therefore, once you get Glamour Prisms from her, you are ready to find out about the next steps of today’s teachings!

You can immediately start casting glams by selecting the item you want to glam and selecting “Cast Glamour!”

Cast Glamour

This will bring up a menu and show what you have on hand that can be cast onto the equipment you have selected!

Cast Glamour Menu

You might notice, though, that your options now are kind of limited and, don’t tell anyone I said this, super sucky. The only way to make glams not super sucky is to go to an inn! There, you can find your Glamour Dresser!

Lopp at the glamour dresser!

Once inside, you’ll be met with these two weird looking menus!

More Menus!

On the left are the items you have stored as glamours! You can store up to 800 (if this seems like a lot, guess what, you’re wrong). On the right are items you are holding that can be turned into glamours! As a heads up, items stored as glamours can’t be used as equipment so don’t store stuff you NEED. You can take them out of your dresser, though, so don’t freak out too much if you make a mistake!

After you have stored your glamours, click “Edit Glamour Plates” to… well… edit. Glamour plates. That will open up these windows!

Chocobo Outfit!

From here, you can put various glamour pieces into different slots! You will get a little “X” on a piece if it is incompatible with your job or level, something to be aware of when styling your YOU look!

The Chocobo-Eyed among you might have noticed my glamour boots are dyed. That’s no trick of the light! They really ARE dyed! You have two options for coloring glamours in the chest, either by using dye on the plate, or before making these equipment into glamours!

Dyes in the plate makes it specific to that plate, while dyes added BEFORE turning them into glamours make those colors the default. If you plan on making a certain piece one color over all others a lot, this can save you a ton in dye-related gil expenses! And if you want to change that color back to normal, you can always use a Terebinth! This removes dye from any dyed item!

Well, guess that’s it for the lesson! That wasn’t too long, I hope? I know that this might be seen as more common, but all sorts of people come to school to learn new things! Be kind to those just setting out, they might not know it all! And who knows? Maybe some veteran glamourers got something out of this too? Anyway, class dismissed! I got some gambling to do.

Class Dismissed!
