Traveling through Western La Noscea while investigating a current story, I stopped at the edge of the southeastern cliffside, just west of Swiftperch, to capture this photograph of The Brewer’s Beacon.
The lighthouse on the cliffside did not exist before the Calamity, instead built afterwards as a replacement for the destroyed Swiftperch Tower. The lighthouse’s bright beams serve as a guide, or even a warning, to sailors and trade ships out at sea during times of bad storms and low visibility.
In the not-so-far distance you can see Pharos Sirius, as well, a great lighthouse that serves as a different kind of warning. It’s an amazing sight to behold, with bright beautiful colors that can be seen from vast distances, even in the dark of night, and overshadow anything you might find at Brewer’s Beacon. And yet that light is not the result of a helpful lighthouse lantern, but rather the corrupted crystals and aether that have pervaded the structure and kept it in ruins since the Calamity.
It’s amazing how corruption can exist in plain sight, in a beautiful form, casting its light even over places many visit daily. But we should not be deceived.
