Like much of the land throughout Eorzea, Lower La Noscea is not how it once used to be.

Here, in this photo I took as I flew south to Moraby Drydocks, you can see The Mourning Widow, a waterfall born of the devastation that came to our star those many years ago.

The land here at Moraby Bay used to be smooth and contiguous, the river flowing steadily into the waters of the eastern ocean (just to the east, in fact, you’ll find the Mist housing district). The calamity, however, changed that, destroying much of the land and leaving what remained of the river to fall into the ocean abruptly over a jagged and rocky cliff.

The waterfall’s name comes from local folklore - the people there view the now cascading waters as the tears of those who have lost loved ones.
